About the PTO

The Parkwood Upjohn PTO is a nonprofit group of parents, guardians, teachers, and staff dedicated to improving the educational experience of all students at Parkwood Upjohn Elementary School. Our goal is to encourage interaction between family and school, and to organize, support, help, and volunteer.

Parkwood-Upjohn is able to provide school field trips for all students for free or a low cost due to PTO’s fundraising efforts throughout the year.

Come to meetings — parents put the P in PTO!

Volunteer

PTO puts on a number of events each year and we need your help to make them a success! Events like Panther Prowl, Fall Trunk or Treat, Valentine’s Day Dance or the End of the Year Carnival all require volunteers to put on! We need volunteers to work check in, sell concessions, and pitch in a variety of ways. Check out our upcoming events for ways to get involved!

What programs does the PTO fund and support?

  • Back to School BBQ
  • Kindergarten Playdates
  • Field Trip Costs for all grade levels
  • 5th Grade Camp
  • Teacher Appreciation Week
  • Supply Reimbursement for Teachers
  • Teacher Meals during parent conferences
  • End of the Year Family Carnival
  • Maintenance of both Gardens
  • And much more!

While fundraising is not our primary goal, it is an important aspect of the PTO. Money raised by the PTO-sponsored events helps us purchase supplemental materials for students and staff. One hundred percent of the money raised through PTO goes directly back to benefit the students.
